By using potentiometer operated directly from the mechanism moving the gates, the signal received gives true indication of the gates position. Both travel indication and open-close-indication is achieved from one transducer.
By comparing the commando signals with the indication signals a safe indication is achieved. When a command is given, the system shall immediately detect a feedback signal form the potentiometer. If no signal is detected, something is wrong and. The command is eliminated and an alarm is given.
The MPV-valve will always be automatic Mechanical Locked when reaching closed position.
The gates are expanded by the power links. When the valve reaches closed position, the power links angle goes negative and thereby the valve is mechanical locked.
The valve can also be manual locked in both closed and open position.
When valve is travelling to Close:
the internals including the gates will first move vertically downwards only, until they are in perfect position towards their respective seats. Then the gates will start moving direct horizontally towards their seats until the valve is fully closed and mechanically locked.
When valve is travelling to Open:
first the power links moves out from mechanically locking and the gates starts moving direct horizontally away from the seats as the trim and finally the gates starts moving upwards until the valve is fully open. There will be no sliding movement of the sealing towards the seat and thereby no scoring or galling.
When the bonnet is dismantled a SERVICE COVER is mouted to the top flange of the valve body. Thereby it is Double Isolation towards the sea. Among others Statoil is demandig this function.
Our solution gives a Double Block & Bleed- function wich can be monitored by the control system and activate an alarm if leakage should occure.
All conventional valves today have to be dismantled from the pipeline when wear and tear parts shall be replaced. When the valve is dismantled from the pipeline and removed, any related process / production has to be stopped. The free pipe ends are exposed to atmosphere. Remaining medium in the pipeline will flow to the ground and lead to emmissions.
